Article on Step by Step Guide to perfect Dental Crowns? Art or Science which is a great read and goes into the  great detail on what to expect from the Dentist who produces your  natural dental Crowns

Ø  Here are our first hand experiences with patients returning to Perth Australia and their biggest complaints.

Ø  Time is of the essence.  Upon landing in Bali or Thailand, look around. Enjoy the scenery of this beautiful place. Oops! Never mind! You don’t have time! Off to the dentist you must run!

Ø  Most patients were not able to reject the colour or shape of the  work created for their implant in this limited amount of time.  There simply was not enough time for a remake.  Don’t settle! This seems the number one complaint.  In Perth -if you not happy with a colour - your Dentist will re-do at no extra cost. NB. You have flown a long way, your requirements MUST be met- DO not pay for a product that is NOT what your order. You would not pay for a Blue car if your original order was Red . Don't pay for Solid coloured crowns if you requested Natural with transparency and depth.

Ø  Many patients go to Bali or Thailand to save money on Complete Mouth Make-over.  Think Carefully before heading Off-shore . In other words - you have imagined a brand new set of teeth and the escapism is? You imagine looking younger, you imagine the look? , the feel? or your Imagine finally feeling comfortable in your self?  The Escapism you imagine is the Value you should place. For example Mary Smith has imagined a set of teeth that would close the gaps and give her that 10 year  Anti-aging gain as currently people stare at  the gaps in her mouth , purposely turning eyes away . She returns and is now pained with bright fake teeth that draw way more attention . This was never the plan , those bad reviews will follow

In a truly aesthetic dental scenario, final crowns are only put in place with temporary cement, allowing you a week to live with these new teeth and decide their fate, their colour and their length, etc.  Overseas tourism dentistry  lacks a long-term relationship with the patient. The Attention to detail in hue, colour, translucency seems lost in the Quick , fast pace of Too much treatment to do , not enough time for the Patients Aesthetic outcome make sure that crowns are not attached permanent for at least a week before you fly out and if you dislike the colour after a few days - they will re-do and deliver on time for your return home. Perhaps have a clause in INK - Not happy or not enough for a re-do then treatment is for FREE ( its your teeth - your money)

Overseas websites typically depict a 5m crown, great from a distance but very solid in colour and not aesthetically correct.  None-the less, there are patients that do not mind this detail and in truth are well-served.  The quality of the work showed in the advertisement suites these patients’ requirements.

It is the 1 metre and 15 cm patients that return home in a state of shock. What have they done?

Ø  There was little to no time remaining for colour or symmetry, crowns were placed the day before they flew out.

Ø  It seems that Zirconia crowns that are produced also lack the finesse, transparency and hue.

Whose fault is it? In truth, if the website advertised 5 metre Crowns (looks great from 5 metres away) then you don't have a leg to stand on.
Facelift dentistry

I think before travelling overseas for any dental work, there are decisions to be made.

Ø  First, decide on your aesthetic outcome. Do the photos on their site suite you? Are they what you imagined? or Value for yourself?

Ø  If your desired outcome matches their predicted outcome then you may be a great match. Bon voyage!

Our Tip: We highly recommend that before any Implant  is placed in your mouth...

Ø  Have a treatment plan in place with the dental office you are using.

Ø  Have a 3D X-ray completed.

Ø  Know the bottom line price- include hotels, flights, food, parking, taxi's etc

Ø  Ask them for the lot number of the dental implants that they plan to use and use those numbers to research an Australian-made equivalent. While you are researching, remember to ask if they carry spare components and if this is an original. Please, DO NOT LEAVE THIS STEP OUT!

Nine out of ten Australian dentists are left searching for components of dental implants not sold in Australia! The communication from overseas dental is less than desirable and extremely secretive.

Do your homework! You wouldn’t buy a car from an overseas dealership that couldn’t ever be fixed in Australia, would you? Why would you take the chance with a body part? Don’t take anyone’s word for it. Do the research so that you know the truth.  Every dental implant sold comes with a lot number and identifier. If it’s not there, it’s not real! These are always given to the patient as implants carry a lifetime warranty , herewith a great link from a well known Australian Dental Implants company - a Great Read with GREAT ADVICE  on Authenticity.http://www.straumann.us/en/professionals/products-and-solutions/surgical-and-restorative-solutions/Authenticity.html

Ø  If you don't receive the Original - DONT pay , 9/10 you had a compatible product placed- a FAKE .

Ø  It should be a part of your upfront demands.

Ø  Again, do the homework!  This alone will save you many months of future pain and anguish.

Pricing is Interesting.   Currently they seem to hover around $1100 US Dollars for placement of a dental implant.  This seems in line with Perth dental implant pricing at $1283 Australian.  Of course it all depends on current conversion rates. But, let’s get serious, really serious here. Do you want to have work done overseas, risk infection, risk a botched surgery and return home in pain and anguish only to be told all you have done already was a waste of time and money? By next year The Aussie is set to hit 0.50c to the US Dollar , in the consumers pocket this means paying Aus $2000 per Dental implant placement - way more expensive than local Perth prices and with not Flight or hotel bills

The safest place to have your work done is right here at home in Perth. Realize that dental implants here in Perth are more affordable than ever!  Your Health Care Fund (major dental at $2000 a year for most funds) is here to help.  It’s cheaper than ever to place dental implants locally.  You must read our article on  Cost of Dental Implants in perth?
